| About Dr. David W. Evans, PhD, MBA |

Dr.
Evans is well known for his research and teachings in the area of visual
function and the measurement of visual capability. Dr. Evans began his
vision
research career in 1978 as an Air Force officer in the Air Aerospace Medical
Research Laboratory where he developed new measures of visual function
for
pilots and astronauts. Since that time he has participated as an
investigator in many commercial and FDA clinical trials related to the
evaluation of LASIK and PRK surgery, as well as the impact of various
eye
diseases on visual function. He has published numerous scientific articles,
written several book chapters on visual function and holds five patents
on
optical devices.
Dr.
Evans received his B.S. from the Air Force Academy. At Wright State
University in Dayton, OH, he received an M.S. in systems engineering
and an
MBA in management. His Ph.D. in Ocular Physiology was obtained from
Indiana
University. Currently, Dr. Evans is on leave as a faculty member from
the
University of Alabama, Birmingham.
